The
False Teaching
From
Paul we have this:
Therefore as sin came into the world through one man and
death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all men
sinned -- (Rom. 5:12), & For as by one man's
disobedience many were made sinners, (Rom.
5:19)
From the
Catholic Catechism:
the Church has always taught that the
overwhelming
misery which oppresses men and their inclination towards evil and death
cannot be understood apart from their connection with Adam's sin and
the fact that he has transmitted to us a sin with which we are all born
afflicted, a sin which is the "death of the soul."
From
Calvin's Institutes: All
of us, therefore, descending from an impure seed, come into the
world tainted with the contagion of sin. Nay, before we behold the
light of the sun we are in God's sight defiled and polluted.
From the Southern
Baptists:
Through the temptation of Satan man transgressed the
command of God, and fell from his original innocence whereby his
posterity inherit a nature and an environment inclined toward sin.
Therefore, as soon as they are capable of moral action, they become
transgressors and are under condemnation.

Exposing
the Error
The error is rooted in three fallacies:
(1) that adam refers to an
individual, (2) that Gen. 1 & 2 are words of God and (3) that
Romans is the
Word of God. Science reveals the first to be false, and therefore
also the second. Jesus makes the third false in saying, I
have told you all things before hand. But if we take adam as a generic term for
the human race, it is possible to discern Truth in the Hebrew creation
myth. This is the testimony even of Genesis: When
God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. Male and female he
created them, and he blessed them and named
them man when they
were created. It is
clear, then, that adam need
not apply to an individual. The devil is in the details in two
ways! (1) In the identification of the serpent, and (2) in the
deception that adam is the
name of an individual. It follows that the
doctrine of original sin is false, being founded on details falsely
attributed to God, namely the bulk of the Genesis creation myth. God condemned no man to physically die because of his
disobedience. There has been no man who bequeathed the taint
of sin to his children. This doctrine, rooted in more false doctrine,
can
only be false doctrine! May God have mercy on the millions
of perpetrators throughout Christian history.

Declaring
the Truth
Jesus did validate
a small portion of the creation myth of Genesis: Have you not read
that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, and said, `For this
reason a man shall leave his father and mother and
be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh' (Gen.1:27)? So
they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined
together, let not man put asunder (Mt. 19:3-6).
He validated only this and no more. There is no record that he ever
mentioned Adam. After the words above, he immediately invalidated the words of Moses on
divorce. But here is what he said that fully invalidates the heinous doctrine of
original sin: Truly,
I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never
enter the kingdom of heaven (Mt.18:3). See that you do not despise one of
these little ones; for
I tell you that in heaven their angels always behold the face of my
Father who is in heaven (Mt. 18:10).
So it is not the
will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should
perish (Mt. 18:14).Let the children come to me, and do not
hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven (Mt.
19:14). This settles it. It's simple! Can you hear
him? In the light of this, do you yet see infants as tainted by
