A Prayer of Jesus
I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will.

THE WALL

A wall is somewhere standing
On the way where men explore
In quest of understanding
Of creations mystic lore.

Its face, so high ascending
That there is no passage o're;
To right and left unending,
Without window, port, or door.

Its footing low, descending
To the planets very core.
To dig you were intending?
Give it up; you'll die before.

T'is vain to tunnel under
For its footing lies too deep
For any shaft. No wonder
Men of science stand and weep!
