of Jesus
I thank thee, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will.

Do Not Worry
Matthew 6 Luke 12

[28] And why do you concern yourself about clothing? Learn from the lilies of the field [how they] grow: They neither toil nor spin.
[29] Yet I say to you that Solomon in all his glory was not adorned as one of these.
[30] Now if God thus clothes the grass of the field which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more you, O little-faiths?
[31] Therefore be not concerned saying: What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear?
[32] For the nations strive after all these [things]. For your heavenly father knows that you need all these [things].
[33] Be seeking first the kingdom and its justice, and all these [things] will be added to you.

[27] Consider the lily, which neither spins nor weaves, yet I say to you even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed as one of these.

[28] So if God thus clothes the grass being in the field today and in the furnace being thrown tomorrow, how much more you, O little-faiths?

[29] And you be not seeking what you shall eat and what you shall drink, and be not being anxious.

[30] For all these do the nations of the world seek. But your father knows that you need these [things].

[31] Rather be seeking his kingdom, and all these [things] will be added.

Following Jesus
Matthew 16

Mark 8

Luke 9

24 Then Jesus said to his disciples: Whoever wishes to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

25 For whoever wishes to save his psyche-life will lose it, and whoever loses his psyche-life because of me will find it.

26 For how will [a] man be profited if he should gain the whole world and forfeit his own psyche-life? Or what will [a] man give in exchange for his psyche-life?

27 For the son of man will come in the glory of his father with his angels, and then he will render to each according to his doings.

28 Truly I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste of death until they see the son of man coming in his kingdom.

[34] And calling upon the crowd with his disciples he said to them: If anyone would come after me, let him renounce himself and take up his cross, and be following me.
[35] For whoever would save his psyche-life will lose it, but whoever loses his psyche-life because of me and the gospel will save it.
[36] For what does it profit [a] man to gain the whole world and forfeit his psyche-life?
[37] For what will [a] man give in exchange for his psyche-life?
[38] For whoever is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the son of man will also be ashamed of him, when he come in the glory of his father with the holy angels.
[23] And he was saying to them: If anyone wish to be coming after me, let1 him renounce himself and take his cross and be following me.
[24] his psyche-lifeFor whoever wishes to save his psyche-life will lose it, but whoever loses because of me, this [one] will save it.
[25] For what does it profit [a] man having gained the whole world but having lost or forfeited himself?
[26] For whoever is ashamed of me and [my] words, of this one will the son of man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory and [the glory] of his father and of the holy angels.
[27]But truly I say to you, There are some having stood here who will not taste of death until they see the kingdom of God.

In The Renewal

Matthew 19

[27] Then Peter answering said to him: Behold we have forsaken all and have followed you, what then will be to us?
[28] And Jesus said to him: Truly I say to you that you the [ones] following me, in the renewal, when the son of man sits on the throne of his glory, you yourselves shall also sit upon twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
[29] And everyone who forsakes houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or land because of my name, will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal zoe-life.
[30] But many [who are] first will be last and last first.

The Arrival of the Son of Man

Matthew 24

Mark 13 Luke 21

[29] But immediately after the affliction of those days the sun will be darkened and the moon will not give its radiance, and the starts will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

[30] And then will be manifest the sign of the son of man in heaven, and then all the tribes of the land will hide and will see the son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

[31] And he will send his angels with great trumpet-calls, and they will gather his chosen from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

[24] But in those days after that tribulation

the sun will be darkened,
and the moon will not give its radiance,
[25] And the stars will be falling out of heaven
and the powers in the heavens will be shaken

[26] And they will see the son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

[27] And then he will send the angels and they will gather his chosen out of the four winds from the edge of [the] earth to the edge of heaven.

[25] And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and upon the earth dismay of the nations in perplexity, sounds of [the] sea and of tossing,
[26] when men die from fear and of expectation of the [things] coming upon the inhabited earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
[27] And then they will see the son of man coming in [a] cloud with power and great glory.
[28] But when these [things] begin to come to pass, stand erect and lift up your heads, because your release is at hand.

The Judgment
Matthew 25

[31] But when the son of man comes in his glory and all his angels with him, then will he sit on the throne of his glory.
[32] And all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
[33] And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on his left.
[34] Then the king will say to those on his right: Come you blessed of my father, Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
[35] For I hungered and you gave me to eat, I thirsted and you gave me to drink, I was [a] stranger and you gathered me,
[36] naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, in prison and you came to me.
[37] Then the just will answer him saying: Lord, when did we see you hungry and we fed you, or thirsty and we gave you to drink?
[38] And when did we see you [a] stranger and we gathered you, or naked and we fed you?
[39] And when did we see you sick or in prison and we came to you?
[40] And answering the king will say to them: Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you did [it] to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
[41] And then will he say to those on his left: Be departing from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
[42] For I hungered and you did not give me to eat, I was thirsty and you did not give me to drink,
[43] I was [a] stranger and you did not gather me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not look after me.
[44] Then they also answered saying: Lord, when did we see you hungering or thirsting or [a] stranger or naked or sick or in prison and we did not serve you?
[45] Then he will answer them saying: Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you did it not to one of the least of these, neither did you do it to me.
[46] And these will go into eternal punishment, but the just into eternal zoe-life.

Power Against Demons
Luke 10

[17] Now the seventy returned with joy saying: Lord, even the demons were subject to us in your name.
[18] So he said to them: I have beheld Satan as lightning having fallen from heaven.
[19] Behold to you twelve [is] the authority to trample over snakes and scorpions, and upon all the power of the enemy, and NOTHING will do you any injustice.
[20] Nevertheless in this be not glorying that the spirits are subordinate to you, but be rejoicing that your names are written in the heavens.

On Seeking Seats of Honor
Luke 14

[7] But he was saying to those invited [a] parable, noticing how they were choosing the first seats, saying to them:
[8] Whenever you be invited by someone to [a] wedding, do not lay back in the first seat, lest one more honored than you be invited by him,
[9] and coming the [one] having invited you and him will say to you: Give to this [one] the place, and then you begin with disgrace to be occupying the last place.
[10] But whenever you be invited, having proceeded you lay back in the last place, in order that when he come the [one] having invited you will say to you: Friend, move up higher. Then it will be to you glory before all those reclining with you.
[11] For everyone exalting himself will be humbled, and the [one] humbling himself will be exalted.
[12] But he was also saying to the [one] having invited him: Whenever you do [a] lunch or [a] dinner, be not calling your friends or your brothers or your relatives or your rich friends or your brothers or your relatives or your rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and it become recompense to you.
[13] But whenever you would do [a] banquet, be calling poor, crippled, lame, blind,
[14] and you will be blessed, because they do not have to repay you. For it will be repaid to you in the resurrection of the just.

The Grateful Leper
Luke 17

[11] And it came to pass when proceeding to Jerusalem, he was going through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
[12] And when he was entering one certain village, ten leprous men met him, who stood from afar.
[13] And they lifted [their] voice saying: Jesus master, have mercy upon us.
[14] And seeing, he said to them: Having gone show yourselves to the priest. And it came to pass in the going away they were cleansed.
[15] But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned with [a] great voice praising God,
[16] and fell on his face by his feet thanking him. And he was [a] Samaritan.
[17] But answering, Jesus said: Were not ten cleansed? Where [are] the nine?
[18] Were there not found having returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?
[19] And he said to him, Having stood, be going, your faith has saved you.

Jesus Walks the Road to Emmaus

Luke 24

[13] And behold two among them in this day were proceeding to [a] town being distant sixty stadions4 from Jerusalem, by name Emmaeus,
[14] and they were conversing with each other concerning all these [things] that had happened.
[15] And it came to pass while they were conversing and discussing, Jesus also himself having drawn nigh was going with them.
[16] But their eyes were being prevented from knowing him.
[17] But he said to them: What [are] these words that you exchange with one another while walking? And they stood with [a] gloomy look.
[18] But one by name Cleopis answering said to him: You only dwell in Jerusalem and you do not know what has come to pass there in these days?
[19] And he said to them: What? So they said to him the [things] concerning Jesus of Nazareth, [a] man who became [a] powerful prophet in deed and word before God and all the people,
[20] how our chief priests and rulers delivered him up to [the] judgment of death and crucified him.
[21] But we were hoping that he is the one [about] to ransom Israel. But with all these [things] it is the third day from which these [things] came to pass.
[22] But even certain women among us astounded us, having come early upon the tomb,
[23] and not finding his body they came to tell also to have seen [a] vision of angels, who say he zoe-lives3.
[24] And some of those with us departed to the tomb, and found [it] likewise just as the women also said, but they saw him not.
[25] And he said to them: O unintelligent and slow in heart to be believing in all that the prophets spoke.
[26] Must not the Christ suffer these [things] and enter into his glory?

[27] And beginning with Moses and from all the prophets he explained to them in all the scriptures the [things] concerning himself.

Jesus Does Not Receive Glory From Men

John 5

[39] You search the scriptures, because you suppose in them to be having eternal zoe-life, and these are those witnessing concerning me.
[40] And you do not want to come to me in order that you have zoe-life.
[41] I do not receive glory from men,
[42] but I have known you that you do not have the agape-love of God in yourselves
[43] I am come in the name of my father, and you do not receive me; if another come in his own name, that [one] you will receive.
[44] How are you able to believe, receiving glory from each other, and the glory of the only God you do not seek?

Teaching in the Temple
John 7

[14] Now the festival being already in the middle Jesus went up to the temple and was teaching.
[15] So the Jews were marveling saying: How does this [one] know letters, not having been taught?
[16] So Jesus answered them and said: My teaching is not mine but of the [one] having sent me.
[17] If anyone wills to be doing his will, he shall know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God or [if] I speak from myself.
[18] The [one] speaking from himself seeks his own glory. But the [one] seeking the glory of the [one] having sent him, this [one] is true and injustice is not in him.
[19] Has not Moses given you the law? And no one [of you] does the law. Why do you seek to kill me?

Jesus Does Not Seek His Own Glory

John 8

[48] The Jews answered and said to him: Did we not well say that you are [a] Samaritan and you have [a] demon?
[49] Jesus answered: I do not have [a] demon, but [rather] I honor my father, and you dishonor me.
[50] I do not seek my glory; there is the [one] seeking and judging.
[51] Truly truly I say to you, if anyone keep my word, he will not see death to eternity.
[52] The Jews said to him: Now we have known that you have a demon. Abraham died and the prophets, and you say: If you keep my word, you will not taste death unto eternity?
[53] You aren't greater than our father Abraham who died, [are you]? And the prophets died: whom do you make yourself?
[54] Jesus answered: If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. The father is the [one] glorifying me, whom you [all] say that: He is our God.
[55] And you have not known him, but I know him. And if I say that I do not know him, I will be [a] liar like you; but I know him and I keep his word.
[56] Abraham your father was glad that he saw my day, and he saw [it] and rejoiced.
[57] So the Jews said to him: You do not yet have fifty years, and you have seen Abraham?
[58] Jesus said to them: Truly truly I say to you: Before Abraham came to be, I am.
[59] So they took stones that they throw [them] upon him, but Jesus hid and went out of the temple.

The Death of Lazarus

John 11

[1] Now someone was being sick, Lazarus from Bethany, from the town of Mariam and Martha her sister.
[2] Now it was Mariam the [one] having anointed the Lord with perfume and having wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
[3] So the sisters sent to Jesus saying: Lord, behold, whom you philia-love is sick.
[4] Now Jesus having heard said: This [one] being sick is not to death but for the glory of God, in order that the son of God be glorified through it.
[5] And Jesus agape-loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.

Lazarus Raised From the Dead

John 11

[38] So Jesus, again being deeply moved in himself, comes to the tomb. Now it was [a] cave, and [a] stone was lying upon it.
[39] Jesus says: Remove the stone. Martha the sister of the [one] having died says to him: Lord, he stinks already, for it is the fourth [day].
[40] Jesus says to her: Did I not say to you that: If you believe, you will see the glory of God?
[41] So they removed the stone. Now Jesus lifted up his eyes and said: Father, I thank you that you heard me.
[42] For I have known that you always hear me, but because of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they believe that you have sent me.
[43] And having said these [things] he cried out with [a] great voice: Lazarus! Come out!
[44] And the [one] having been dead came out, his feet and hands having been bound with bandages, and his face was bound with [a] handkerchief. Jesus says to them, Loose him and let him be going.

Jesus Warns His Own
John 16

[1] These [things] have I spoken to you in order that you not be stumbled.

[2] They will have you expelled from the synagogue; but [the] hour comes that everyone having killed you glory to be offering ministry to God.

[3] And they will do these [things] because they do not know the father nor me.

[4] But I have said these [things] to you in order that when their hour come you be reminded of them, because I have told you.

Jesus Prays for the Father to Glorify Him
John 17

[1] Jesus spoke these [things], and having lifted up his eyes to heavens he said: Father, the hour is come. Glorify your son, in order that the son glorify you.

[2] Just as you gave to him authority over all flesh, in order that all that you gave to him, he give to them eternal zoe-life.

[3] This is eternal zoe-life, that they know you the only true God and whom you sent, Jesus Christ.

[4] I glorified you upon the earth, having completed the work that you gave me in order that I do [it];

[5] and now glorify me, father, in your presence with the glory that I had in your presence before the world was.

Jesus Prays for Believers Everywhere
John 17

[20] But not concerning these only do I ask, but also concerning those believing in me through their word,
[21] in order that they all be one, just as you, father, [are] in me and I in you, in order that they also be in us, in order that the world believe that you sent me.
[22] And the glory that you have given to me I have given to them, in order that they be one just as we are one,
[23] I in them and you in me, in order that they be completed into one [thing], in order that the world know you sent me and [that] you agape-loved them just as you agape-loved me.
[24] Father, whom you have given me, I wish that where I am they also be with me, in order that they behold my glory, which you have given to me, because you agape-loved me before the foundation of the world.
[25] Just father, the world also knew you not, but I knew you, and these [men] knew that you sent me;
[26] and I made known to them your name and I will [continue to] make [it] known, in order that the agape-love with which you agape-loved me be in them and I in them.
