Jesus
(From the gospels)
Matthew 23
9 And call no man your father on
earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.
Matthew 5
44 But I say to you, Love your enemies
and pray for those who persecute you,
45so that you may be sons of
your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil
and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
John 20
17 Jesus said to her, "Do not hold
me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father; but go to my brethren and
say to them, I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my
God and your God."
The above is a small selection
of texts from the gospels in which Jesus designates God as Father.
In the verses shown in the right
hand column, Muhammad was reacting to the Christian doctrine of the Trinity
that deifies Jesus. He utterly failed to perceive that not only Jesus,
but every human being who receives his Word as uttered by Jesus is born
of God and thus deified! Like the trinitarian God of Christendom, Allah
is also a tribal diety. Neither are
conformable to the Father in heaven. |

(From the Koran)
The Women
1.[4.171] O followers
of the Book! do not exceed the limits in your religion, and do not speak
(lies) against Allah, but (speak) the truth; the Messiah, Isa son of Marium
is only an apostle of Allah and His Word which He communicated to Marium
and a spirit from Him; believe therefore in Allah and His apostles, and
say not, Three. Desist, it is better for you; Allah is only one God;
far be It from His glory that He should have a son, whatever is in
the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His, and Allah is sufficient
for a Protector.
The Believers
1.[23.91] Never
did Allah take to Himself a son, and never was there with him any (other)
god-- in that case would each god have certainly taken away what he created,
and some of them would certainly have overpowered others; glory be to Allah
above what they describe!
The Rangers
[37.151] Now surely it is of their
own lie that they say:
[37.152] Allah has begotten;
and most surely they are liars.
In the above, "Isa" is "Jesus"
and "Marium" is "Mary". |
