The
False
Teaching
The
Southern Baptist Answer Please let me tell you how you can be
saved:
Admit Your Sin:
First, you must understand that you are a sinner. The Bible says, "All
have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" (Rom. 3:23).
Abandon Self-Effort:
You cannot save yourself by your efforts. The Bible is very clear that
it's "not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according
to His mercy He saved us" (Titus 3:5).
Acknowledge Christ’s
Payment: You must believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God,
died for your sins. The Bible says, "God commendeth His love toward us,
in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).
That means He died in your place. Your sin debt has been paid by the
blood of Jesus Christ, which "cleanseth us from all sin" (1 John 1:7).
Accept Him as Savior:
Are you willing
to offer the following prayer to God today? "Oh
God, I'm a sinner. I'm lost, and I need to be saved. I know I can't
save myself, so right now, once and for all, I trust You to save me.
Come into my heart, forgive my sin, and make me your child. I give You
my life. I will live for You as You give me strength."If you will make
this
your heartfelt prayer, God will hear and save you! Jesus has promised
that He will not turn away anyone who comes to Him in faith (John
6:37). He will make you a child of God, if you will turn to Him
You must put your faith in Jesus Christ, and
Him alone for your salvation. The blood of Christ does you no good
until you receive Him by faith. The Bible says, "Believe on the Lord
Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved" (Acts 16:31).

Exposing
the Error
Search the word and see that Jesus
has not issued a salvation formula remotely resembling the one
presented in the left column. This is a total perversion of the
Word and to promote it must be one of the weightiest of sins. It
has caused many millions of persons to be assured of their salvation
who remain utterly lost!
Yes! We must admit
our
sin. But this is useless while we think of our sins only
as our
misdeeds or as our transgressions of the law of God. See our
prior edition on The
Essence of Sin.
Yes! Abandon self-effort
means to stop attempting to save yourself by good works. But
other self effort is essential.
Yes! Christ died on
account of our sins -- but he did not pay a sin
debt. To Acknowledge Christ's
Payment is futile. A debt paid is not
forgiven. God understands that we can't pay and is merciful to
forgive us. And He is not unjust to require the sinless one, Jesus, to
pay the debt of the guilty ones. That is not the reason Jesus
went to the cross. He went there ahead of us, not instead of us!
Yes! Accept Him as Savior.
But making a decision per the Baptist / Fundamentalist mantra is
futile. Believe and be saved works,
but only when one knows in whom one believes. It entails far more
than the evangelical decision for
Christ.
If the simple prayer (to
the left) is the essence of
being saved, would not Jesus have expressed it so? Search and see
that he has not told anyone to pray thus. This prayer is total voidance
of his Word and makes this Word of no effect: For the gate is narrow
and the way is hard, that leads to life, and those who find it are few. These are the
words that will judge us!

Declaring
the Truth
Here is salvation according to
Jesus! The
hour is come
that the son of man be glorified. Truly truly I say
to you, unless [a] grain of wheat having fallen into the earth die, it
remains alone, but if it die, it
bears much fruit. The [one]
philia-loving his psyche-life
will lose
it, and the [one]
hating his psyche-life in this world will guard it to zoe-life eternal. If
anyone be serving me, he must be following me, and where I am,
there also will be the [one] serving me. If anyone be serving me, the
father will honor him (John 12:23-26,FNT).
If
anyone would come after me, let him
renounce himself and take up his cross, and be
following me. For
whoever
would
save his psyche-life will
lose it, but
whoever loses his psyche-life because of me and the
gospel will save it. For
what does it
profit [a] man to gain the whole world and forfeit his psyche-life? For what will [a]
man give in exchange for his psyche-life? For whoever is
ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation,
the son of man will also be ashamed of him, when he come in the glory
of his father with the
holy
angels (Mark 8:34-38 FNT).
What part of "follow" don't they understand?
Compare
this with Paul's false answer to the question: If you confess with your
lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him
from the dead, you will be saved. For man believes with his heart
and so is justified, and he confesses with his lips and so is saved (Rom.
10:8-10). Men,
what must I do to be saved?" Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you
will be saved, you and your household (Acts
16:31).
