The Eucharist Papers
Below
is a list of papers
written by Edgar Jones and published in the Summer and Fall of
2005. They begin and end with a discussion drawn from John
6:26-71. Christians generally, and Catholics in particular, take
this series of sayings of the Lord to relate to the Eucharist, or as it
is variously called, Lord's Supper, Holy Communion or The Mass. A
careful examination of the context proves easily that this is not true,
and that John 6:26-71 are all about sifting false disciples from the
true. We then proceed to show that Jesus did not institute the
Eucharist, but that it was instituted by Paul of Tarsus, the
self styled apostle to the Gentiles.
