and understanding and revealed them to babes; yea, Father, for such was thy gracious will |
Listen To Jesus You
are my Son, the beloved; I have
approved
you. (GOD
said to Jesus Mk.1:11))
HEAR
HIM!
This is a
page that discusses the sayings of GOD's Son, Jesus His
anointed one.
GOD sent
Jesus to show the Way, Truth and the Life to those who would
to follow
him and want to attain
eternal life with the Father.
Jesus'
instructions and death heralded the answer to the Jesus
prayer:"..Your Kingdom come, Your will be done
on earth as it is in heaven."
Jesus
preached the good news of GOD saying: "The
appointed time has been fulfilled and the kingdom of GOD has drawn near. You people repent and
believe the good
news."
The
kingdom came at the exact moment he drank the vinegar wine,
a fruit of
the vine, at his death. As Jesus
gave us the clue to that event when he was at the last
supper. For I
say to you: I will
not drink of the fruit
of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come. Lk.22:18.
Jesus now
maintains all the power in heaven and earth; there is no
more kingdom
coming it has already come and
is happening only through doing the will of the Father who
sent him.
The earth is a foot stool where his
enemies exist. Our work now is to start walking just like
Jesus did to
get where we are going.
The only
next event for us is the resurrection. We prepare for that
by going
and not coming. All the coming is
complete, now it is the going that counts. The arrival that
everyone
talks about has already occurred.
What we have now is the presence or parousia. A Greek term also translated as
coming and arrival. The presence is the word
of God left for us to study
through the words of Jesus as we are guided by the presence of holy spirit sent
to us for our guidance in
Jesus words and comfort on our journey. The presence
is sent to us to facilitate our going.
Jesus
came to tell us what God wants for us; what his will is for
us. We all
want to know what his will is, don't
we? If we knew that we could do it. Right?
He only
wants one thing from us. See if you can find that in the
sayings of
Jesus on this page.
THE
WILL
John 6:37 All
that the Father gives me shall come to me; and him that
comes to me I will in no wise cast out.
:38 For I came down from
heaven, not to do my own will, but
the will of him
that sent me.
:39 And this is the Father's will which
has sent me, that of all which he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at
the last day.
:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every
one who sees the Son, and
believes in him,
may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
There it
is! Did you see it? You can look everywhere, but never find
it said so
plainly and succinctly as that. A
child can see it, but sometimes we that are adults get it
all
confused in complex teachings and ideas
from others.
The
Father wants his wayward children home at the day he
assigned for us to
come home. Come Home? That
would not be his will, would it? Or, is it? If we knew the
way home why
would we need someone to show us?
God
provided that through his son who was sent to show us
truthfully, the
way home to God our Father. He wants
us to show up at the resurrection by following Jesus. That's
it. The
resurrection is the Father's Day that
has been set by him to greet his wayward children home from
their
earth's journey to him. It is like the
prodigal son or the harvest of his birthed from above
children.
The next
occurrence to which we look forward is the
resurrection at the
last day. That is the last coming that
is coming and that is what we are arising to go to. So it is
a going
that we are preparing for and are being
sanctified about, or being made ready for through the
guidance of holy
spirit through the words of Jesus,
which are truth. The holy spirit is also called the sprit of
truth and
the power of God.
Jesus was
sent abroad to us who will listen. He came here to be our
only shepherd
or pastor. Our only teacher
or rabbi and way shower. God wants us to listen to him and
him alone.
All others are strangers with
strange and confusing teachings.
A child
can understand when his Father calls him to come home. That
is what he
is doing by sending Jesus for
us to follow home. It's getting late so let us listen to the
Father's
messages to us from our older
brother Jesus who is carrying the light for us.
Soon we
know he will personally call to us: Come
Home!
We look
forward to that call today.
COMING
TO
And
when he had come
to
himself, he said: How many hired
servants
of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I
perish
with hunger! Lk.15:17
SOME
BABY STEPS
JESUS
CALLS US TO:
COME
TO HIM:
COME
TO RECEIVE
COME
TO BELIEVE
COME
TO A DECISION TO TURN
COME
TO SEE
COME
TO KNOW
COME TO FOLLOW JESUS' WAY HOME, TO GO
HOME TO THE FATHER ON RESURRECTION DAY HOMECOMING
COME
TO CONFESS JESUS' ESSENTIALS1.
COME TO HIM
*First: We come to him by coming to our
self. Something happens and
causes us to look at our life. Other
conditions occur to draw or drag us to consider what to do
about our
life. We then come to him for
answers, whether we like it or not. It is our prodigal state
that is in
crisis. Coming to oneself is a look inward
and recognizing a need. Then we look to him and come to him
to fill our
need.
Is.2:3 And many peoples will certainly go
and say: Come, YOU
people and let
us go up to the mountain
of YHWH [LORD], to the house of the God of Jacob; and he
will instruct
us about his ways, and we
will walk in his paths. For out of Zion law will go forth
and the word
of YHWH [LORD] out of Jerusalem. {instruct:
or, teach - forth: or, out}
Luke 15:17 And when he came
to
himself, he said,
How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with
hunger!
Mt.25:34 Then shall the King say to them on
his right hand: Come, YOU
blessed of my
Father, inherit the
kingdom prepared for YOU from the foundation of the world:
Lk.14:26 If anyone comes
to me, and does not hate his father and
mother and wife and
children and brothers
and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my
disciple. {life: or, soul}
Jn.6:37 Everything that the Father gives me
shall come to me; and the one that comes
to me I will by no means
drive away. {Everything:
or, All - by no means: or, in no wise - drive away: or, cast
out}
Jn.6:44 No man can come
to me, unless the Father who sent me
draws him; and I will
resurrect him in the last
day. {unless:
or, except - draw: or, drag Grk.,
''elkuse -
resurrect: or, raise}
6:45 It is written in the prophets: And
they will all be taught
by God [YHWH]. Everyone that has heard from the
Father and has learned comes
to me.
2.
COME TO LISTEN
Second: We come
to listen. We become curious and start to read and listen to
what he
alone says.
De.18:19 And it must occur that the man who
will not listen to my
words that he
will speak in my name, I
shall myself require an account from him. {occur that: or, will come to pass - the man
who: or, whoever
- account:
or, inventory}
Hear Him
Is.49:1 Listen to me, O YOU islands, and pay
attention, YOU
national groups far away. YHWH [LORD]
himself has called me even from the belly. From the inward
parts of my
mother he has made mention
of my name. {pay
attention: or, hearken - national groups: or, people -
belly: or, womb
- inward parts: or, bowels}
Mk.9:7 And there was a cloud that
overshadowed them; and a voice
came out of the cloud, saying: This is my beloved Son: hear him.
Lk.19:48
And could not find what they might do; for all the people
were very attentive to hear him. {were: or, hanged on him}
Jn.4:42
And the others said to the woman. Now we believe not because
of what
you said; because, we have heard him
ourselves and know
that he is indeed the Christ, the savior of the world. {Christ: or, Messiah: or, Heb,
the anointed one)
Jn.8:47 He that is from God hears God's words. For
that reason, YOU do
not hear them;
because YOU are
not from God.
3.
COME TO RECEIVE
Third: We come
to receive. His words go into to our being and we pay close
attention
to what he says. His words
are like food to a starving person.
Mt.19:11
But he said to them: All [men]
cannot receive this saying, except
[those] to whom it is given. {except: or, save}
Mk.10:15 Truly I say to YOU: Who ever shall
not receive the
kingdom of God
as a little child, he shall not enter
therein.
Lk. 8:13 They on the rock [are they],
which, when they (1) hear, (2) receive the word with
joy; and these
have no root, which for a while (3) believe, and in time of temptation
fall away.
.
Lk.9:48
And said to them: Who ever
shall receive this child in my
name receives me: and who ever shall
receive me receives him that sent me: for he that is least
among you
all, the same shall be great.
Consume
Him, Take Him In, Internalize Him
Jn.6:54 Who ever eats my flesh, and drinks my
blood, has
eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jn.17:8 For I have given to them the words
which you gave me; and
they have received [them], and have
known surely that I came out from you, and they have
believed that you
did send me.
Acts 1:8 But YOU will receive power, after
that holy spirit has come upon you, and YOU will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem, and in
all Judea, and in
Samaria and o the most remote part of the earth. {power: or, power of holy spirit}
4.
COME TO BELIEVE
Fourth: We come to believe through what we
hear and read. We have
heard, read and tried a lot of things.
Now we start believing Jesus alone. We have come to believe
that God
sent him to be his only spokesman.
We now start to grasp that Jesus is all we need. We start to
give up
our addiction to other voices.
Believing
Jesus Words is Believing in Jesus
Mt.21:32 For John came to you in the way of
righteousness and you did
not believe him; but,
the publicans
(tax men) and the harlots believed him and you, when you had
seen it,
did not repent afterward,
so that you might believe him.
Mark 1:15 [Jesus] saying: The appointed time
has been fulfilled, and
the kingdom of God is has drawn near:
repent, YOU people, and believe the good news. {drawn near: or, at hand - repent:
or, turn around - believe: or, have faith in}
Mk.5:36 As soon as Jesus heard the word
that were spoken, he said to
the ruler of the synagogue: Do not be
afraid, only believe.
Jn.4:42 And the others said to the woman:
Now we believe, not because of what you said;
because, we have heard him
ourselves and know that he is indeed the Christ, the
savior of the world. {Christ: or, Messiah:
or, Heb., the anointed one)
Jn. 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, you believe me.
Jn.11:42 And I know that you hear me
always: but because of the
people which stand by I said [it], that they may believe that
you have sent me.
Jn.14:1 Do not let your heart be troubled:
you believe in God, believe also in me.
Believing
in Jesus, is believing Jesus words and that which is in
union with
Jesus. Jesus is in union
with his Father and his words are in union with Jesus. We
come into union with the Father
and Son through the words of Jesus. We consume the words
which are
spirit and life and
therefore are birthed from above. This
becomes our works.
5.
COME TO A DECISION TO TURN
Fifth: We come
to a decision to repent. To turn around and turn our lives
over to GOD
and trust in him in all
of our affairs.
Mal.4:6 And he shall turn the heart of the
fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to
their fathers, in order that I might not
come and strike the earth
with a curse.
Mt.4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say: Repent, for the
kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Mk.1:15
[Jesus] saying: The
appointed time has been fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is
has drawn near. Be repentant, YOU
people, and believe the good news. {drawn near: or, at hand - repent:
or, turn around - believe: or, have faith in}
Lk.13:3
I tell
you, No, but, unless YOU repent, YOU shall all likewise perish.
Lk.15:17 And when he came
to himself, he said, How many hired servants
of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish
with hunger!
Lk.15:18 I will
arise and go to my
father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against
heaven, and against you,
Luke 17:4 And if he
trespass against you seven times in a day, and seven times
in a day
turn again to you,
saying, I repent; you
must forgive him.
John
12:40 He has
blinded their eyes and hardened their heart; that they would
not see
with their eyes, nor
understand with their heart, and be converted and I
would heal them. {converted:
or, turned around,: or, repent}
Acts 3:19 Repent, therefore, and be converted, that
YOUR sins may be blotted
out, when the times of refreshing
shall come from the person of the Lord [YHWH], {person: or,
presence}
6.
COME TO SEE
Sixth: We come to see. We have believed
some sayings and they are
sinking into our being as we start to
grasp a vision through what we have read and heard. We come
to
see what Jesus sayings mean and we
start to see him. Jesus reveals himself to us.
Is.53:1
Who has
believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? {report: or, declaration:
or, message}
Mt.11:27 All things are delivered
unto me of my Father: and no
man knows the Son, but the Father; neither
knows any man the Father, save the Son, and [he] to whom
ever the Son
will reveal [him].
Lk.10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in
spirit, and said, I thank
you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you
have hidden these things from the wise and prudent, and have
revealed them to babes; even so,
Father; for so it seemed good in your sight.
Lk.10:23 And he turned him unto [his]
disciples, and said privately,
Blessed [are] the eyes which see the
things that YOU
see:
Jn.6:40 And this is the will of him that
sent me, that every one who sees the Son, and
believes in him, may
have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last
day.
Jn.12:38 That the saying of Isaiah the
prophet might be fulfilled,
which he spoke: Lord, who has believed our
report; and, to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
Jn.12:45 And he that sees me sees him that sent me.
Jn.14:17 The spirit of the truth; which the
world cannot receive,
because it neither sees it nor knows it. YOU know
it, because it
remains with YOU and is in YOU. {is: or, shall be}
7.
COME TO KNOW
Seventh: We come
to know that GOD really does exist. He loves us and wants to
be our
Father. He sent his
Son to show us the way home. We are lost and his will for us
is to come
home to him. Jesus shows us
the way, the truth and the light is in him.
Is.43:10 YOU are my witnesses, is the
utterance of YHWH [LORD], even
my servant whom I have chosen,
in order that YOU may know and believe me, and
that YOU may understand that I am the same One.
Before me there was no God formed, and after me there
continued to be
none. {believe:
or, have
faith in - same One: or, he - none: or, nothing formed of
God}
Mt.11:27 All things are delivered unto me of
my Father; and no man knows the Son,
but the Father; neither knows any man
the Father, save the Son, and [he] to whomsoever the Son
will reveal [him].
Lk.6:44 For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do
not gather figs, nor of a
bramble bush
gather they grapes. {grapes:
Gr. a grape}
Jn.7:29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he
has sent me.
Jn.8:55 Yet YOU have not known him; but I
know him; and if I should say: I do not know, I would be a liar
like YOU, but I know him and keep his sayings.
Jn.10:14
I am the
good shepherd, and know my [sheep], and am known of mine.
Jn.14:7 If YOU had known me, YOU
would have known my Father also, and from now on
YOU know him, and
have seen him.
Jn.14:17 The spirit of the truth; which the
world cannot receive,
because it neither sees it nor knows it. YOU know it, because it remains with YOU and
is in YOU. {is: or, shall
be}
Jn.17:3 And this is life eternal,
that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus
Christ, whom you have sent.
8.
COME TO FOLLOW JESUS WAY HOME
Eighth: We come
to follow Jesus way home to the Father. The Father's will
for us is to
have his birthed from
above children home with him at the Day of Resurrection.
Is.2:3 And many people shall go and say,
Come ye, and let us go up
to the mountain of the LORD, to the house
of the God of Jacob; and he
will teach us of his ways, and we will walk
in his paths; for out of Zion shall go forth the law,
and the word of the LORD
from Jerusalem.
Mt.4:19
And he said to them: Follow
me, and I will make you fishers of
men.
Mk.10:21
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said to him: One thing you lack, go your way, sell what ever you have, and distribute it
to the poor, and
you will have treasure in heaven, and come, take up the cross, and follow
me.
Lk.14:27 Whoever is not carrying his cross
and coming after me cannot be
my disciple.
{carrying: or, bearing -
cross : or, torture stake - coming after: or, follow}x
Jn.6:29
Jesus answered and said to them: This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.
Jn.10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know
them, and they follow me,
Jn.12:26 If any man wants to serve
me, let him follow
me; and
where I am, there shall also my servant be;
if any man serve
me, him
will [my] Father honor.
9.
COME TO CONFESS JESUS' ESSENTIALS
You
people repent and believe the good news." Mk.1:15
Luke 10:27 And he answering said, You
must love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul and with your whole
strength and with
your whole mind; and, you must love
your neighbor as yourself.
Jesus
very plainly stated: He who
loves his life loses it, and he who hates his life in this
world will keep it for eternal life. Jn.12:25
Matthew 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his
disciples, If any one will come after me,
let him disown himself and pick up his cross
and follow me.
16:25
For
whoever wants to save his life will lose it: and, whoever
wants to lose
his life for my sake
will find it.
The kingdom
has come,
God's will is being done on earth as it is in heaven!
