THE REAL AUTHORITYBy Brother Keith Winterowd
And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, All power has
been given to me in heaven and in earth. Jesus Matt 28:18 The Power of Jesus
Remember
that Jesus is the real and final authority of God's
will. He is the
single absolute authority of the message GOD has for all
mankind
forever. His words are the last of the Father's own
personal sayings to
all mankind.
Jesus
was sent by the Father to give his words to the people
who would hear
and respond to him. He gives his followers authority to
become the
children of God.
Disregard
anything we say that you consider at conflict with the
words and
sayings of Jesus. We used to see conflict until we found
that we were
not hearing him and him alone. We had been trying to
harmonize his
words with those of others. To pay attention to Jesus
alone and set
aside others was a frightening experience at the start;
but, it paid
dividends that were astounding.
We encourage you to listen
him too.
Jesus told us that his
followers don't listen to strangers. In fact we run from
strangers.
We
continue to study the sayings of Jesus and will add and
subtract our
findings as the truth is revealed in our study of his
words.
We
believe the promise that Jesus has sent the holy spirit
to live with us
and guide us into all the truth that Jesus gave us. We
believe Jesus is
GOD's beloved, approved Son, and that the Kingdom of God
came at the
exact moment that he drank the vinegar just before he
died.
His
dead body was placed in a nearby boulder sealed tomb in
the the earth
and it stayed there for three nights and three days.
Jesus was
resurrected to life by the Father at the end of that
time. All power in
heaven and on earth was given to Jesus at his
resurrection from the end
of his stay in death. He now reigns and rules and was
given all power
in heaven and earth. He rules all things but not so much
as to be
noticed now.
The Father wants us to hear
him, grasp a vision of his sayings (so as to 'see him'),
follow him and obey his commandments.
Jesus gave us these
principles by which he wants us live.
Jesus wants us to love our
GOD with all our being and love our neighbor as our
self. Our enemies are also our neighbors.
Jesus
states he wants his followers to hate their own earth
life so that we
may love our life in eternity with the Father. He
requires that we
place our values and treasures in heaven with the
Father. We cannot
have two masters.
Jesus
requires that we love each other. He wants us to to
follow him and
carry our own cross. He died ahead of us, not instead of
us. He showed
us how to defeat Satan fearlessly.
This
is effected by total love for the Father, loving our
neighbor and
hating our life on earth. Our great desire we have been
given by his
words is to come home to be with him through following
Jesus way. He
desires mercy and wants us to obey the commands that he
sent by Jesus.
These are the elements of the works it takes to gain
victory over
Satan's illusion of the fear of death and its corollary
the loss of
life.
Jesus discusses, how we are
to fearlessly live, die and become resurrected as he
did.
He wants us to prepare ourselves today by following him so that we will be with him to greet the Father as his children in his glory on his day in the resurrection. GOD wants one thing from his children and that is to come home to him. Everything
revolves about him and he has been waiting for the
harvest of his
children from the earth which he grows through the seeds
of the words
he sent by his Son. These words can be found in the
gospels and are to
be planted in our hearts by studying his words with the
guidance of the
holy spirit. Jesus words are usually in red print.
They can be easily
found in the four gospels of the New Testament.
He said it, we believe it,
and because his sayings are absolute truth, that settles
it.
Jesus is GOD'S complete
messenger. We listen only to him.
PEACE BE TO YOU AND TO YOUR HOUSE
